They recorded this a bit too late into the evening which puts them in the right mindset to go down the Amazon with Werner Herzog as conquistadors look for El Dorado in Aguirre, the Wrath of God. They go into ALL of their favorite Herzog stories and occasionally mention why the movie is good. They also dive into the classic Prince album, Purple Rain. Their hearts warm when they let love open the door with Pete Townshend and Jonathan Creek. It’s a good episode!

As everyone knows, the best way to start a new Five is to head straight into madness in the heart of the jungle. At least that’s what Austin and Eric think as they begin their Werner Herzog Five with Aguirre, the Wrath of God. It’s the story of damned conquistadors who are searching for El Dorado. The film shows Herzog’s impressive way of establishing a mood as well as the ability to doubt your own sanity. This film went over so well, one of the two called it one of the best films they’ve covered!
